Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. It started with a stack of celebrity photos I'd found online, a set of colored pencils my mom bought me, and hours spent trying to get every line just right — a habit of looking closely that never really left.
My first real commission came from an unexpected place: a high school counselor asked if I could paint a portrait of her dog, and around the same time I picked up a project for a local bank. Neither felt like a big deal at the time, but together they opened my eyes to what was possible — that people wanted art made just for them, and that I could be the one to make it.
Since then I've completed more than 250 custom pieces for clients across North Dakota and beyond, including a four-foot painting that made its way all the way to Hawaii. I move between mediums and subjects on purpose — portraits one week, pets or landscapes the next, abstract work after that. Jumping around keeps the work interesting, and keeps me learning with every piece.
